ADJUSTMENTS BOOST THE IMMUNE SYSTEM

Dr. Hayek reported at the international conference on spinal manipulation that his recent study in Australia showed that chiropractic care significantly decreased cortisol levels, anxiety levels and depression levels, and significantly increased immune function. Dr. Hayek reported that only the group undergoing spinal adjustments displayed significant improvement in asthma symptoms, depression and anxiety scores. In addition, patients actually undergoing spinal adjustments displayed dramatic increases of IGA (immune system booster) and decrease of cortisol through the post-treatment.
How does this happen? Subluxations (which create deficient nerve supply) such as forward head posture, loss of cervical curve, and lateral deviations in the spine (scoliosis) put tremendous stress on the brain-body connection, affecting every organ in the body including the thyroid, adrenals, and gut. This causes numerous pathological consequences in the body including, among others: poor nutrient absorption, metabolic irregularities, brain chemistry imbalances, poor sleep, weight gain and fatigue.
